My School was almost 16 Kms from my residence. I used to travel by bicycle (May be that's the reason of me being tall?). I was fond of listening to pop music & play chess. I have spent most of my school vacation in Mumbai for watching Hindi movies, where in those days Hindi movie used to release first in Mumbai & then in Gujarat.

I use to take part in debates. I was very active participant in collage elections (Quality of a leader?) & one of the most important people in college's Canteen.

My first job was at Ingersoll Rand (India) as team leader for one of their software division. I still remember working late hours, sometimes overnight at office at ballad estate, fort area. I learnt a lot about computer networking where we deployed the ARCNET networking project in-house.

Currently, I am working as Manager (IT), handling all IT related projects including hardware, software, networking. Responsibilities

  • Reporting to Managing Director & Chairman
  • Handling the entire team of software, hardware and networking professionals
  • Manage all the activities of IT department
  • Involved in issues related to Production Database (Clustered)& Critical Server Maintenance, Critical LAN Switches, All Remote databases, All Remote         Servers, WAN Related issues
  • Co-ordination with users/department heads for IT related issues
  • Co-ordination with Village society users and resolve problems
  • Handle issues related to any failure/downtime of Database, Network etc.
  • Upgrade the Software, hardware and network as per the demand/growth of business
  • Surveillance System

  • Interact with other dairies/ GCMMF (AMUL) / NDDB (National Dairy Development Board)
  • Decision making for different IT related products
  • Define processes for ISO9K:2K and follow up for the same
  • SUMUL is engaged in manufacturing milk & milk products by the brand name of "AMUL" with the turnover of around Rs. 1000 Crores. We have 4 Chilling plants & 1 Cattle feed factory. My role is to ensure the IT services running without any major downtime & maintain the business continuity.

    I find "Resistance to change" & "Support from higher management team" as the most important aspect of implementing / handling any IT project.

    "Adoption" is the key to any successful IT project.

    Management may find the IT solution costly before the implementation but once you show the results, it truly justifies with the ROI.

    IT is the future. IT is driving the business.
